IAI (Japanese martial art with katana sword)
SHO (Japanese calligraphy art) Collaborative performance
We will take you on a trip to a space between this world and the other.
IAI is a martial art that starts with quick draw of the sword to respond to sudden attacks.
SHO is a calligraphy art that proceeds from top to bottom just like water flowing down a waterfall.
In IAI, just a slight momentary judgement divide the boundary of life and death.
In SHO, just a slight difference in placement of ink will divide the liveliness of the art.
Listen to the sword whistle as it cuts through the air.
Listen to the brush whisper as it slides on paper.
Listen to the interval of silence.
The purpose of this performance is to face your un-awakened true self.
We hope to share this experience with you.
